Arts Teacher (Performing Arts - Music and Drama)

About the role

Karratha Senior High School, an independent public school for Years 7 to 12 serving about 1270 students, is hiring a full-time Arts Teacher starting Term 1, 2027. The role focuses on teaching Performing Arts, including Music and Drama, and is advertised as part of a recruitment pilot that uses a single CV template and two short written responses to AITSL domains.

Key responsibilities

• Build positive relationships with students and work with colleagues to improve student achievement.
• Teach secondary Arts from Years 7 to 12, with a focus on Performing Arts (Music and Drama); the ability to teach both is desirable.
• Deliver a differentiated curriculum that meets the needs of all students, aligned with the school's Whole School Instructional Model.
• Support the school's moral purpose, values and priorities across the whole community.

Required profile

• Eligible teacher qualification and registration.
• Australian, New Zealand citizen, permanent resident or holder of a valid visa with work rights for the term of appointment.
• Ability to apply for a WA Working with Children Check and consent to a criminal history check and screening clearance.
• Knowledge of the Western Australian Curriculum.
