2nd/3rd Year Electrical Apprentice

About the role

An emerging electrical contractor based in Campbellfield, Victoria, is looking for a 2nd or 3rd year electrical apprentice to join its team of around 20 professionals. The role supports qualified electricians with electrical installations on commercial office fit-out and new build projects, while helping the apprentice continue developing their trade skills toward becoming a licensed electrician. It is a full-time, 38-hour week position.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with electrical installations across office fit-outs and new build projects
• Carry out rough-in and fit-off of cabling, lighting, power and containment
• Read and work from electrical drawings and plans under supervision
• Assist with testing and fault-finding as directed by qualified electricians
• Follow site safety procedures and onsite HSEQ requirements at all times
• Maintain tools, equipment and a clean, organised work area
• Travel between project sites across Melbourne's CBD and surrounds

Required profile

• Currently completing a 2nd or 3rd year electrical apprenticeship
• Current driver's licence
• Current white card (construction induction)
• Current Working With Children Check (required)
• EWP licence preferred
• Previous exposure to commercial construction or office fit-out projects highly regarded
• Strong work ethic, eagerness to learn and commitment to safety
• Good communication skills and ability to work well within a team
