Trainer & Assessor – Aged & Disability Care (Canberra)

About the role

Opulence College is seeking experienced Trainers & Assessors to join its Canberra campus on a contract basis. You will deliver and assess nationally recognised qualifications in aged care, disability support and community services, helping students gain the skills they need for the sector.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver engaging training sessions that align with the curriculum for assigned qualifications.
• Conduct assessments using written work, case studies, role‑plays and workplace‑based observations.
• Provide clear, constructive feedback to support student learning outcomes.
• Maintain accurate student records and assessment documentation in line with ASQA requirements.
• Continuously update training materials to reflect current industry practices.
• Stay informed about legislative changes and emerging trends in community services.
• Collaborate with fellow trainers and support staff to ensure student success.

Required profile

• Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116 or TAE40122).
• Relevant qualification(s) in Individual Support (Disability) – AQF Level 3+, Ageing Support – AQF Level 4+, or Community Services – Diploma level or higher.
• Recent industry experience in disability support, aged care or community services.
• Proven experience delivering and assessing accredited vocational training.
• Strong understanding of industry standards and compliance requirements.
• Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Competency with Learning Management Systems and Microsoft Office.
