Shift Engineer – Engineering & Maintenance

About the role

Grand Hyatt Melbourne is seeking an energetic and passionate Shift Engineer to join its busy Engineering team. You will provide consistent, high‑quality service to internal and external customers while ensuring the hotel’s building, equipment and facilities run smoothly.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the efficient operation of the Engineering Department supporting all other hotel areas.
• Maintain and service building plant and operating systems, including boilers, chillers, AHU plant and fire services.
• Work a variety of shift timings, including weekends, public holidays and night shifts.

Required profile

• Experience in a similar maintenance role within a hotel, hospital, commercial building or industrial sector.
• Strong communication and writing skills, able to interact at all levels.
• Well‑presented with an understanding of 5‑star service standards.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a large team.

Required skills

• Knowledge of boilers, chillers, air handling unit (AHU) plant and fire services.
• Familiarity with industrial laundry and kitchen equipment (desirable).
