Senior Structural Designer - Tekla and Concrete

About the role

A structural designer is needed for projects in mining, minerals processing, resources and heavy industrial engineering. The role covers 3D modelling and design in Tekla, concrete and steel documentation, BIM coordination and design support through to site construction.

Key responsibilities

• Produce detailed 3D structural models and design documentation using Tekla Structures and Tekla Structural Designer.
• Develop structural steel and reinforced concrete (RCC) design drawings, general arrangements, reinforcement detailing and schedules.
• Coordinate 3D models across civil, structural, mechanical and piping elements to eliminate spatial clashes.
• Ensure designs meet Australian Standards, project specifications and industrial client requirements.
• Provide drafting and design input for procurement, fabrication and site construction.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Structural Designer or Drafter in heavy industry, mining or resources.
• Relevant associate degree, advanced diploma or equivalent technical trade qualification in structural drafting/design.
• Strong communication skills, collaborative approach and ability to handle multiple deliverables in a fast-paced consulting environment.

Required skills

• Advanced Tekla Structures for detailing/modelling and Tekla Structural Designer for concrete and steel design.
• General familiarity with 3D CAD/BIM tools such as AutoCAD or MicroStation.
• Reinforced concrete detailing, heavy equipment foundation design, structural steel connections and material take-offs.
