Senior Mobile SDK Developer (Android/iOS) - 12-Month Contract

About the role

A global cybersecurity product company is looking for a Senior Mobile SDK Developer for an initial 12-month contract based in Sydney. This is not a typical mobile app or UI role: you will work at SDK and platform level, building and evolving production libraries and frameworks embedded in customer applications on Android and iOS.

Key responsibilities

• Build and evolve production mobile SDKs and libraries for Android and iOS
• Work on complex engineering challenges such as memory management, object lifecycles and resource cleanup
• Handle concurrency, multithreading and thread safety, performance, networking and interoperability
• Maintain backward compatibility across OS versions
• Debug difficult, sometimes poorly documented platform behaviour
• Implement automated testing, CI/CD and code quality checks

Required profile

• 5+ years of professional software development experience
• Expert-level skills in at least one of Java, C or C++
• Solid understanding of memory and resource management and multithreaded programming
• Strong debugging and profiling capability
• Deep engineering fundamentals, curiosity and the ability to learn across platforms

Required skills

• Mobile SDK, framework or library experience is highly regarded
• Android experience with Java/Kotlin, Android SDK, NDK/JNI, Gradle or Android Studio, and/or iOS experience with Swift, Objective-C, iOS SDK or Xcode
