Senior Estimator - New Build

About the role

Buildcorp's New Build team delivers complex, high-quality construction projects and is looking for a Senior Estimator in Sydney. The role brings accuracy, commercial insight and technical capability to challenging projects, working closely with subcontractors, consultants and internal stakeholders within a strong team of construction professionals.

Key responsibilities

• Complete initial tender assessments, evaluating all project aspects, risks and opportunities.
• Produce accurate trade break-ups and secure strong market coverage through subcontractor relationships.
• Hold regular meetings with key subcontractors to obtain competitive, accurate pricing.
• Prepare detailed cost plans for internal review.
• Lead the preparation of handover packages and budgets for successful tenders.
• Collaborate with internal bid teams on program, budget inputs, value engineering and alternate solutions.
• Support and coach estimators, contributing to team capability and performance.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience in estimating or cost planning with proven success.
• Strong network of subcontractors and suppliers in relevant trades.
• Ability to evaluate risk and opportunity in pricing assessments.
• A relevant qualification in construction management, engineering, quantity surveying or similar.

Required skills

• Proficiency in estimating software such as Buildsoft or CostX.
• Strong commercial acumen, stakeholder management and decision-making skills.
