Senior EC&I Engineer (Nuclear)

About the role

The Adelaide Building Engineering team is seeking a Senior EC&I Engineer with nuclear experience to lead design and engineering of electrical, control and instrumentation systems for critical infrastructure projects.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design and engineering of EC&I systems, ensuring compliance with project requirements, standards and regulations.
• Prepare and review technical documentation, specifications, drawings and calculations, coordinating with other disciplines.
• Provide technical guidance to engineers and designers, building team capability.
• Conduct engineering studies, hazard and risk assessments, and support testing, commissioning and validation activities.
• Collaborate with project managers, architects and other engineers to integrate EC&I solutions across complex building and infrastructure projects.

Required profile

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Proven experience delivering EC&I systems on major infrastructure, defence or energy projects; nuclear experience highly regarded.
• Strong knowledge of electrical power systems, control systems and instrumentation, including LV/MV distribution and power system studies.
• Experience with PLC, SCADA, DCS, ICS, BMS and building automation.
• Understanding of functional safety, hazard analysis, SIL assessment and verification processes.
• CPEng or Chartered Engineer status or commitment to achieve it; ability to meet AUKUS defence clearance requirements.
