Senior Consultant – Internal Audit – Risk Consulting

About the role

EY is seeking a Senior Consultant in its Risk Consulting, Process & Controls Practice to deliver high‑quality internal audit and risk services to clients. This hybrid position is based in Sydney.

Key responsibilities

• Support clients in aligning internal audit strategies with business objectives through assessments, transformation initiatives and co‑sourced or outsourced services.
• Identify, assess and analyse operational and enterprise risks, providing practical recommendations to strengthen risk management frameworks.
• Evaluate the impact of emerging legislation and regulatory requirements, helping organisations manage compliance, financial and operational risks.
• Perform internal control and SOX testing, assess control frameworks and support the development and execution of risk‑based internal audit plans.
• Deliver internal audits across compliance, financial, operational and strategic risk areas.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in finance, business, accounting or a related discipline.
• Relevant experience in internal audit, preferably within professional services or a large multi‑faceted organisation.
• Professional accreditations such as CPA, CISA, CA, CIA, CISM, CISSP, CBCP or CIPP (or obtainable within one year of hire) are advantageous.
