Roads & Highways Engineer

About the role

Join a leading infrastructure consultancy to lead transport projects across Queensland. You will apply strong design capabilities and practical project management to a portfolio of small to medium‑scale roads and highways works.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high‑quality analysis and design outcomes that meet Australian Standards and client expectations.
• Independently undertake key technical tasks across multiple projects.
• Apply project management principles to ensure on‑time, on‑budget delivery.
• Prepare technical reports and proposals for small to medium projects.
• Monitor scope and risk while effectively using business systems.
• Build and manage strong client relationships, both internal and external.
• Collaborate within a diverse, multi‑disciplinary team environment.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.
• At least 2 years of proven experience in roads and highways design.
• Solid understanding of relevant Australian Standards and specifications.
• Strong project management and organisational skills.
• Ability to interpret and communicate complex technical information.
• Proactive, client‑focused mindset with excellent time‑management.
• Confidence working independently while contributing to team success.
• Proficiency with relevant engineering software and business systems.
• Awareness of WHS management, CRM principles and safety‑in‑design concepts.
