Registered Nurse - 7 West 2

About the role

Sydney Local Health District is recruiting an experienced Registered Nurse for its 7 West 2 ward at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, one of Australia's leading tertiary and quaternary healthcare facilities and a major teaching and research hospital. The role involves caring for post-surgical patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings, with a fast-paced nursing team.

Key responsibilities

• Care of post-surgical patients in the inpatient and outpatient environment
• Educate patients on how to manage their drains and catheters
• Provide compassionate care to patients affected by major life changes following surgery
• Coordinate and re-prioritise patient care several times during a shift to improve outcomes
• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient-centred, evidence-informed nursing care in collaboration with individuals and the multidisciplinary team

Required profile

• Current nursing registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA)
• Ability to work a 7-day rotating roster
• Full working rights within Australia
• Understanding of evidence-informed practice and critical thinking
• Evidence of participation in own professional development and willingness to share expertise with colleagues
