Program Leader

About the role

The Department of Sport, Racing and Olympic and Paralympic Games is seeking an experienced Program Leader to deliver a broad range of outdoor recreation activities and programs. You will ensure safe, fun and high‑quality experiences for individuals and groups at our community venues across Queensland.

Key responsibilities

• Facilitate safe and quality sport and recreation experiences for participants.
• Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of community‑based programs.
• Implement risk‑management practices and ensure compliance with WHS, industry regulations and departmental policies.
• Assist in creating activity‑specific policies and procedures for efficient venue operations.
• Deliver excellent client service and maintain strong relationships with the local community.
• Maintain accurate administrative systems for program reporting and safety documentation.
• Induct and support accompanying teachers or group leaders on their roles and responsibilities.
• Undertake additional administrative and program‑related duties as required.

Required profile

• Proven experience delivering outdoor recreation programs.
• Strong understanding of risk management and workplace health and safety standards.
• Ability to develop and improve community‑focused initiatives.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive, diverse and respectful workplace culture.
