Procurement Manager

About the role

nbn is looking for a Procurement Manager reporting to the Executive Manager Strategy and Sourcing Network. The role helps nbn secure the goods and services needed to design, maintain, support and operate its business and networks, working across Network Technology and Services. It reports to the Executive Manager Strategy and Sourcing Network.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the development and execution of category strategies and take accountability for sourcing initiatives, from strategy development through market engagement, evaluation, negotiation, contract execution and supplier transition.
• Contribute to effective contract and supplier relationship management.
• Partner with business stakeholders, Procurement colleagues and suppliers to deliver commercially sound and sustainable outcomes.
• Work with General Managers, senior business leaders and subject matter experts to shape commercial strategies, manage competing priorities and support informed decision-making.

Required profile

• Significant experience across procurement, strategic sourcing, category management, commercial negotiations and contract or supplier relationship management, ideally in telecommunications, infrastructure or another complex environment.
• Strong commercial acumen and analytical capability, able to turn market and business insights into practical recommendations.
• Comfortable navigating ambiguity and balancing multiple sourcing initiatives and stakeholder priorities.
• Collaborative, customer-focused and able to build trusted relationships; confident in negotiations and in challenging thinking constructively.
