About the role
The Council is seeking a motivated Plant Operator to join its Parks and Strategic Operations team. This permanent full‑time position involves operating council plant and equipment to maintain the city’s parks, gardens, reserves and related open spaces.
Key responsibilities
- Operate tractors, mowers and other council plant with a focus on safe, efficient performance.
- Perform general labour tasks such as planting, pruning, mowing, tree maintenance, weeding, irrigation and chemical application.
- Assist with soil and sediment control, rehabilitation works, rubbish removal and site safety.
- Support traffic and pedestrian management, fencing, concreting, paving and other maintenance activities as required.
Required profile
- Class MR Driver’s Licence.
- General Construction Induction Training Card (White Card).
- Positive attitude, team‑oriented and comfortable working outdoors.
- Vaccinated as per WHS legislation and able to provide Hepatitis B evidence.

- Tractor operation.

What we offer
- Fortnightly remuneration starting at $2,225.88 gross, progressing to $2,671.06 gross plus superannuation.
