Piping Engineer – Industrial Mechanical

About the role

Aurecon is seeking a Piping Engineer to join its Industrial Mechanical team in Brisbane. The role involves delivering concept and detailed designs for piping and pumped systems, pipelines and hydraulic analysis, contributing to projects that shape sustainable infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Produce concept and detailed engineering designs aligned with client needs.
• Create engineering deliverables such as calculations, datasheets, specifications, reports, bid evaluations and estimates.
• Provide design support for piping and pumped systems, pipelines, hydraulic analysis and mechanical engineering design.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on projects of varying size, managing budget and schedule expectations.
• Apply problem‑solving skills to develop innovative solutions.
• Incorporate Safe Design principles in all daily activities.

Required profile

• Thrives in dynamic environments, works well in a team and is motivated by purposeful work.
• Positive, optimistic attitude with a willingness to learn and grow.
• Experience in detailed mechanical and piping design, including piping and pumped systems, stress analysis, pipelines or hydraulic analysis.
• Familiarity with process‑industry standards such as AS, API and ASME.
• Knowledge of pipe stress analysis principles and their interface with process, mechanical and structural engineering.
• Strong written communication skills and ability to justify technical decisions.
• Preference for experience in the oil and gas sector.
