Parks & Gardens Labourer (Casual)

About the role

Buildability Group is recruiting Parks & Gardens Labourers for a local council during the busy summer season. The role suits people who enjoy working outdoors and want to help keep local parks and public spaces looking their best.

Key responsibilities

• Mowing, whipper snipping and edging parks, reserves and sportsgrounds
• Gardening, weeding, mulching and planting
• Hedging, pruning and green waste removal
• Litter collection and general upkeep of public spaces
• Operating small plant and equipment such as ride-on mowers, blowers and hedgers
• Reporting hazards and damage to council assets

Required profile

• Current driver's licence
• Ability to do physical outdoor work in hot weather
• Commitment to safe work practices
• Previous parks, landscaping or horticulture experience is highly regarded
• Ride-on mower experience and chemical handling (ChemCert) or a Certificate II/III in Horticulture are also highly regarded

What we offer

• $37-$42 per hour depending on experience
• Ongoing work through the summer season
• Opportunity to gain local government experience
