Maintenance Manager - Food Manufacturing

About the role

A recruitment partner is appointing a Maintenance Manager for a key production site of a well-established Australian food manufacturer. This is a senior leadership role with full ownership of the site's maintenance and asset care function, covering reliability, safety and continuous improvement across a large, complex operation.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop a multi-disciplined maintenance team, including trades, planners and engineers
• Own the site's maintenance strategy, budget and asset care programs
• Drive reliability, uptime and plant performance through preventative and predictive maintenance
• Champion a strong safety culture and ensure compliance
• Work closely with production, engineering and site leadership to support operational goals
• Manage contractors, shutdowns and capital projects as required
• Bring continuous improvement practices to maintenance planning and execution

Required profile

• Preferrably an engineering background (mechanical or electrical) plus relevant tertiary qualifications
• Proven experience leading maintenance teams in a manufacturing or processing environment
• Strong grounding in reliability engineering, CMMS and planned maintenance systems
• Safety-first approach and solid knowledge of WHS obligations
• Strong leadership, stakeholder management and communication skills
• Experience with budgets and continuous improvement methods (Lean, TPM or similar) is highly regarded
