Logistics Specialist - Temperature-Sensitive Products

About the role

IFF, a global leader in flavors, fragrances, food ingredients and health & biosciences, is looking for a Logistics Specialist to coordinate logistics for temperature-sensitive food products. The role is onsite in Melbourne, Australia, within a proactive, customer-focused team.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate end-to-end logistics, including 3PL warehouse management, import customs clearance and local delivery.
• Manage logistics for temperature-sensitive food products, including cold-chain and deep-freeze items, keeping storage and transport conditions correct.
• Process logistics transactions in SAP and prepare accurate customs-clearance documentation for brokers.
• Monitor import customs declarations, resolve operational issues and escalate risks promptly.
• Track logistics KPIs, service performance and costs with 3PL providers to support on-time delivery at the right cost.
• Watch warehouse and transport processes for efficiency, product integrity, traceability and food-safety and quality compliance.
• Work with Sales, Customer Service, Planning, Finance, Quality and external providers, and lead cost-optimization projects and corrective actions for customer complaints or temperature excursions.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business or a related field.
• Over 5 years of logistics management experience and at least 5 years in import/export, local distribution and warehousing.
• Solid experience managing food cold-chain and deep-freeze logistics, including temperature-controlled storage and transport.
• Preferred: experience in a multinational food, ingredients, health, biosciences or chemical environment, and knowledge of food-safety or quality requirements for cold-chain and frozen products.

• Hands-on logistics operations and good communication and negotiation skills.

• Preferred: SAP experience.
