Legal Counsel – Consumer Products & Processing (Sydney)

About the role

Mastercard is seeking a Legal Counsel to join the Consumer Products & Processing division in Sydney. The role focuses on supporting Mastercard Prepaid Management Services across the Asia‑Pacific region, providing legal guidance for product development, innovation and regulatory matters.

Key responsibilities

• Act as a trusted business partner for the Consumer Products & Processing team, especially for prepaid card programmes such as travel, gift, corporate and ticketing cards.
• Support commercial initiatives, including product development, innovation and contract negotiations.
• Provide regulatory advice and ensure compliance with financial‑services and payments regulations in the APAC markets.
• Collaborate with the Senior Managing Counsel (UK) and the Regional Senior Managing Counsel for Australasia.
• Assist the regional legal team with day‑to‑day legal matters and risk management.

Required profile

• Strong commercial and regulatory knowledge in the financial services and payments sector.
• Experience working with prepaid card programmes or similar financial products.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a cross‑border legal team.
• Based in Sydney (St Leonards) and able to work both on‑site and remotely.
