About the role

Mattel ANZ is looking for a commercially‑driven Key Account Representative to manage a strategic retail portfolio. This 12‑month fixed‑term position supports a parental‑leave backfill and focuses on driving sales, profit and market share for Mattel’s iconic brands.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage a key customer to meet sales, profit, inventory and market‑share targets.
  • Develop and execute sales and promotional plans in partnership with Marketing, Finance, Customer Marketing and Operations.
  • Oversee trade‑spend and co‑op advertising budgets to maximise commercial outcomes.
  • Monitor sales performance, analyse trends and identify growth opportunities and risks.
  • Maintain forecasting models and align retailer forecasts with Mattel’s inventory planning.
  • Support category range reviews and present recommendations to retail buyers.
  • Build strong, ongoing relationships with retail partners.
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain and Operations to ensure efficient stock flow and speed‑to‑market.
  • Contribute insights on product performance, pricing, distribution and promotional effectiveness during business planning discussions.
  • Track competitor and industry activity to inform strategic decisions.

Required profile

  • Tertiary qualifications in commerce, business, marketing or a related field (advantageous).
  • 3+ years of experience in sales, account management or customer‑facing commercial roles, preferably within FMCG, consumer goods or retail.
  • Strong commercial, analytical and financial acumen with excellent planning, organisational and forecasting abilities.
  • Proactive, adaptable and solutions‑focused with the capacity to manage multiple priorities.
