Hospital Dispensary Team Leader

About the role

This is a rare opportunity for an experienced pharmacist to step into a Grade 3 or Grade 4 Hospital Team Leader position at Slade Pharmacy, supporting Epworth Richmond and its affiliated sites. You will lead a large, high‑performing dispensary team in a fast‑paced private hospital environment, overseeing day‑to‑day operations and contributing to patient‑focused service delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage dispensary operations across Epworth Richmond, Epworth Hawthorn, Thomas Embling Hospital and after‑hours services.
• Oversee pharmacists, pharmacy technicians and delivery staff, ensuring cohesive, high‑functioning service.
• Take ownership of team performance, including recruitment, onboarding, training, development and performance management.
• Collaborate with the stores team to maintain efficient supply and inventory management.
• Build strong relationships with key stakeholders, including the Director of Pharmacy and Richmond Leadership Team.
• Contribute to senior leadership discussions, influencing service delivery and continuous improvement.
• Partner with other Slade teams to drive consistency and excellence across the network.

Required profile

• Current General Pharmacist registration with AHPR.
• Demonstrated leadership experience, preferably with multidisciplinary or mixed‑workforce teams.
• Strong organisational, operational and problem‑solving abilities.
• Professional, adaptable and solutions‑focused mindset.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Commitment to outstanding patient care and customer service.
