Home Care Employee - Narooma

About the role

IRT is looking for kind-hearted and empathetic home care employees in the Narooma area to support its home care customers with personalised care that promotes their well-being, independence and engagement in activities suited to their health, happiness and interests. The role is Monday to Friday with some weekends, hours varying between 7am and 5pm, and is open to entry-level Grade 1 employees and experienced Grade 2, 3 and 4B employees.

Key responsibilities

• Domestic assistance
• Personal care and showering
• Cooking and food preparation
• Transporting customers to appointments and social engagements
• Providing companionship
• Helping customers continue to live well in their own home

Required profile

• Full driver's licence (or P2) and a fully insured car
• At least 3 months of professional home care or aged care experience (nice to have)
• Current First Aid certificate and CPR, or willingness to obtain them
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; a second language is a bonus
• Resilience, ability to work independently and availability for weekday work
• Empathy and a passion for supporting older Australians

Preferred qualifications

• Certificate III in Ageing (preferred but not necessary)
• Certificate III or IV in Individual Support (Ageing) or equivalent (preferred but not necessary)
