Gold Room Operator

About the role

DRA Global Limited is seeking an experienced Gold Room Operator to join the processing team at the Mt Carlton Gold Mine as it moves into steady‑state operations. This hands‑on position involves daily gold‑room activities such as smelting, furnace management and recovery monitoring in a fast‑paced mining environment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform daily gold‑room operations including smelting, bullion pours, calcine and flux preparation, and reagent handling.
• Conduct routine sampling, monitoring and inspections to optimise gold recovery.
• Maintain accurate operational, production and security records in line with site procedures.
• Collaborate with metallurgists and processing personnel to meet recovery targets and improve plant performance.
• Ensure high cleanliness standards and perform routine housekeeping in the gold‑room area.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a gold‑room, process plant or mineral processing environment.
• Proficiency with SCADA and other process‑control technologies.
• Relevant tickets, qualifications or certifications in mineral processing or gold‑room operations (highly regarded).
• Strong problem‑solving ability and capacity to implement process improvements.
• Current driver’s licence and right to work in Australia.
• Ability to pass pre‑employment medical, drug/alcohol screening and police clearance.
