About the role

We are seeking an experienced Financial Controller to lead the finance function of a high‑performing, investment‑backed business in Brisbane CBD. The role starts as a six‑month contract with strong potential to extend, providing critical support during a leadership transition.

Key responsibilities

• Own day‑to‑day finance operations, ensuring robust financial control and accurate reporting.
• Manage month‑end close, forecasting, and end‑to‑end accounting processes across multiple entities.
• Deliver commercial insights and partner with stakeholders to drive business performance.
• Guide and develop a small finance team, with exposure to shared services.
• Liaise with external advisors on tax and compliance matters.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Financial Controller or senior Finance Manager.
• Strong operational finance and control capabilities.
• Comfortable working across several business units or entities.
• Commercially minded with the ability to quickly understand business dynamics.
• Effective stakeholder management and communication skills.
