Financial Analyst - FP&A

About the role

A large, well-established organisation is recruiting an FP&A Business Analyst to join its Group Finance team in Melbourne CBD. The role works closely with an experienced Finance Business Partner and stakeholders across corporate functions, combining financial planning, reporting, modelling and commercial analysis. It suits candidates already in FP&A or commercial finance, as well as those moving from professional services.

Key responsibilities

• Support annual budgeting, quarterly forecasting and financial planning processes
• Prepare financial analysis, management reporting and performance commentary
• Develop and maintain financial models for scenario analysis and commercial decisions
• Work with Finance Business Partners to identify risks, opportunities and key performance drivers
• Provide financial insights and analysis to stakeholders across the business
• Improve reporting efficiency, data quality and financial processes, including analytical tools, automation and business intelligence
• Prepare executive reporting packs, presentations and financial dashboards

Required profile

• CA/CPA qualification or progress towards completion
• Experience in financial analysis, reporting, budgeting or forecasting
• Understanding of financial statements and business performance drivers
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
• Attention to detail, proactive problem solving and ability to work autonomously in a team

Required skills

• Advanced Excel and strong financial modelling
• Power BI, ERP systems or other financial planning and reporting platforms (advantageous)
