About the role
The Finance Manager will lead budget and finance management for the Climate Resilient Communities Support Unit (CRCSU) program delivered to the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT). Reporting to the Operations Lead, the role provides financial analysis and information to support strategic decision‑making across the program’s climate and development initiatives.
Key responsibilities
- Manage the program budget, ensuring accurate forecasting, allocation and monitoring of funds.
- Prepare and review financial reports, statements and dashboards for DFAT and internal stakeholders.
- Support program audits, compliance reviews and internal control assessments.
- Interpret and apply DFAT financial policies, ensuring transparency and accountability.
- Collaborate with project teams and partners to explain financial processes and build capacity.
- Identify and mitigate financial risks, proposing practical solutions.
Required profile
- Proactive, detail‑oriented finance professional with experience in complex development programs.
- Strong judgment to balance compliance requirements with pragmatic solutions.
- Ability to work across multiple stakeholders and adapt to evolving priorities.
- Excellent organisational skills and capacity to manage competing deadlines.
