Drill Operator – FIFO – Various Pilbara Sites

About the role

Rio Tinto is seeking experienced Drill Operators to join its Drill and Blast teams across multiple Pilbara mine sites. The role offers a FIFO lifestyle with family‑friendly rosters (8‑6 or 8‑6/7‑7) and a strong focus on safety, inclusion, and work‑life balance.

Key responsibilities

• Adhere to all Rio Tinto standards, policies and procedures.
• Promote a positive safety culture and ensure compliance on‑site.
• Identify and implement continuous‑improvement opportunities using Rio Tinto best practices.
• Collaborate with other functions and stakeholders to achieve operational targets.
• Operate open‑pit drill rigs and related equipment as required.
• Inspect equipment to confirm safe and correct working order.
• Maintain safe drill lay‑down areas and optimise consumable life.

Required profile

• Commitment to safety and wellbeing of self and team.
• Valid Australian C Class manual driver’s licence (or higher).
• Strong team mindset with flexibility to meet business needs.
• Possession of a Dangerous Goods Licence.
• Experience in open‑pit drilling using rigs such as Atlas Copco, PV275, Reedrill, SK‑F, Cubex QXR 1120, Sandvik DR540.
