About the role

The Australian Air Force is seeking qualified doctors to join its Defence Health System. This role offers the chance to deliver high‑standard patient care, lead multidisciplinary teams, and work in diverse environments across Australia and overseas.

Key responsibilities

• Provide medical care to military personnel and the civilian community.
• Offer occupational and aviation medical advice.
• Supervise, lead and manage health professionals and subordinate staff.
• Maintain accurate medical documentation and liaise with non‑ADF medical agencies.
• Plan, coordinate and execute aeromedical evacuations in tactical, operational and strategic settings.
• Monitor long‑term physical and mental fitness of service members.
• Assist in natural disaster response and other emergency operations.

Required profile

• Australian citizenship and at least 17 years of age at enlistment.
• Recognised medical degree and registration to practice as a doctor.
• Willingness to undergo initial military and employment training.
• Ability to work in remote or austere environments and travel as required.
