About the role
Aurecon’s Queensland Environment and Planning team is seeking a Director to lead the delivery of Environmental Impact Statements (EIS) and related technical assessments across transport, energy, water, land and government projects. The role can be based in Brisbane, Mackay, Gladstone or Maroochydore and offers the chance to shape strategy, client relationships and project outcomes in a fast‑growing national practice.
Key responsibilities
- Lead identification, pursuit and delivery of EISs and technical assessments under Queensland and Commonwealth legislation.
- Advise clients on approval pathways, risks and opportunities, and manage complex EIS projects across multiple sectors.
- Coordinate technical studies, engage with regulatory agencies and negotiate approvals.
- Develop high‑quality proposals and maintain trusted client relationships throughout Queensland.
- Partner with senior leadership to grow the client base and expand EIS capability nationally.
- Own project delivery, including scope, budget and schedule management.
- Provide technical leadership, guidance and mentorship to junior and mid‑level consultants.
Required profile
- Relevant bachelor’s degree (e.g., environmental science, planning, engineering).
- Extensive experience delivering EISs under the EPBC Act and Queensland environmental legislation.
- Proven ability to lead senior‑level client engagements and develop approval strategies.
- Strong commercial insight and a passion for shaping sustainable infrastructure.
