Cyber Security Consultant

About the role

We are seeking Cyber Security Consultants to join a growing technology consulting team supporting enterprise and government clients in Canberra. The role is open to candidates at various stages of their cyber career, from security engineers moving into consulting to experienced consultants leading technical work.

Key responsibilities

• Provide practical security advice to customers and internal teams.
• Lead or participate in customer meetings and technical workshops.
• Support security reviews, solution design and implementation planning.
• Assist with incident resolution, upgrades, new implementations and service improvements.
• Identify opportunities to automate security processes and stay current with threats and technology.

Required profile

• Experience in security engineering, consulting, network security or technical security support.
• Strong understanding of IP networking and security principles.
• Ability to work with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
• Interest in developing security design and consulting skills.

Required skills

• SSE or ZTNA tools such as Zscaler or Netskope.
• Firewalls such as Fortinet or Palo Alto.
• Web application security tools such as F5 or Imperva.
• Vulnerability scanning tools such as Tenable or Rapid7.
• Microsoft security tools like Sentinel or Defender.
• Familiarity with security frameworks (ISO 27001, NIST, CIS Benchmarks, ASD Essential Eight).
