Crane Technician – Port Solutions (Electrical/Mechanical)

About the role

Konecranes is seeking a hands‑on Crane Technician for its Port Solutions team in NSW. You will work across a variety of cranes and heavy‑lifting equipment, providing diagnostics, emergency repairs, and supporting major upgrade projects for three key customers.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect, service and maintain cranes of multiple makes and models.
• Respond to breakdowns with fast, effective emergency repairs.
• Carry out preventive, corrective, retrofit, installation and commissioning work.
• Diagnose complex faults and deliver safe engineering solutions.
• Lead and support major repair and modernisation projects on‑site.
• Prepare quotes and recommendations for significant repairs and upgrades.
• Provide clear updates to customers and mentor junior technicians.
• Manage job documentation, safety reporting and daily service reviews.

Required profile

• Strong electrical or mechanical trade background (cranes or heavy equipment preferred).
• Ability to troubleshoot complex systems and work independently.
• Customer‑focused with good communication skills.
• Commitment to safety, quality and continuous improvement.
• Valid Electrical Licence or Mechanical Trade Certificate.
• Current driver’s licence and willingness to travel.
