Community Manager – Retirement Village Operations

About the role

Join Aveo as a Community Manager at Aspley Court Retirement Village, overseeing daily operations for a close‑knit community of 160+ independent living villas and apartments. You will lead a small team, ensure resident satisfaction, and maintain high standards of safety, hospitality and facilities.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day village operations, including compliance, safety, hospitality, on‑site care and facilities management.
• Foster a customer‑focused culture through open communication and regular resident engagement.
• Manage the community budget in partnership with finance teams and resident committees.
• Coordinate with maintenance staff, external contractors and Aveo’s Facilities team to maintain and enhance the environment.
• Lead recruitment, onboarding, rostering and performance management for the on‑site team.
• Handle complex resident issues, ensuring fair and positive outcomes while meeting compliance obligations.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a customer‑facing operations management role within retirement living or a similar sector.
• Proactive, self‑motivated with a focus on continuous improvement and financial performance.
• Strong judgement and resilience when dealing with difficult interactions.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Ability to quickly learn new systems, processes and legislation.
