Community & Centre Coordinator

About the role

The Community & Centre Coordinator leads a vibrant community hub at the Salvation Army Auburn Corps, delivering inclusive programs, partnerships and initiatives that respond to local needs and strengthen community connection.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate community programs and day‑to‑day activities of a busy community centre, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment.
• Lead delivery and continuous improvement of services that respond to local needs, including events, fundraising and referral initiatives.
• Recruit, support and develop volunteers, staff and participants to maximise engagement and impact.
• Build and maintain partnerships with community organisations, schools, churches and government agencies.
• Monitor compliance, reporting, grant opportunities and operational systems for sustainable service delivery.

Required profile

• Relevant tertiary qualification in Community Services, Social Sciences, Human Services, Business Administration, Community Development or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Demonstrated experience coordinating community programs, people and partnerships in a not‑for‑profit or customer‑focused environment.
• Understanding of WHS, safeguarding, risk management and compliance in community services.
• Strong administrative, organisational and communication skills, including report writing and record management.
• Ability to work within and support The Salvation Army’s mission, values and Christian ethos.
