Commercial Services Officer – CASPO

About the role

The Commercial Services Officer will support the Air Warfare System Project Office (CASPO) in delivering procurement and contract activities for projects such as Ghost Bat (MQ28) and other autonomous platforms. Based at RAAF Base Amberley, the role works closely with Air Force and civilian stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Support commercial elements of the capability lifecycle, including procurement planning, tendering, contract formation, management and closure.
• Provide advice on procurement policy, legal, financial and technical matters to ensure compliance with legislation and internal processes.
• Collaborate with Materiel Procurement Branch, Financial Investigative Services, Defence Finance Group and Defence Legal on risk and compliance issues.
• Respond to complex enquiries, draft procurement schedules, Smart Buyer documentation, IP analyses and liability risk assessments.
• Maintain productive relationships with CASPO executives and the existing commercial team.

Required profile

• Active NV1 security clearance.
• Resilience in a fast‑paced, evolving environment and strong stakeholder engagement skills.
• Ability to prioritise tasks, adapt to changing demands and deliver on schedule.

Required skills

• Experience in procurement, contract management and commercial documentation.
• Knowledge of Commonwealth and Defence procurement policies, probity requirements and conflict‑of‑interest guidelines.
