Business Controller - Agricultural Solutions

About the role

BASF is looking for a Business Controller for its Agricultural Solutions business in Melbourne, Australia. The role acts as a finance business partner to the business, working closely with business leaders to analyse financial results, challenge assumptions, improve processes and help steer the business toward its operational and financial goals.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with business leaders to provide financial insights, performance analysis and recommendations that support commercial decisions
• Monitor sales, costs and profitability against operational plans, identifying trends, risks and opportunities for improvement
• Lead budgeting, forecasting and financial planning activities
• Deliver reporting and analysis to local and regional stakeholders, turning data into actionable insights
• Drive process improvement and strengthen financial controls
• Support audit activities with cross-functional partners to ensure governance, compliance and continuous improvement

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Finance, Accounting or a related discipline; CPA preferred
• At least 5 years' experience in financial analysis business partnering or controlling business partnering roles
• Experience influencing stakeholders and partnering with business leaders to drive performance and decision-making
• Continuous improvement mindset, with exposure to budgeting, forecasting, process improvement or business transformation
• Effective communicator able to simplify complex financial information for diverse audiences
