Business Analyst Manager

About the role

Minter Ellison's Business Systems team wants a Business Analyst Manager to lead a small team of functional Business Analysts and shape the quality of requirements and solution design across large projects and day-to-day work. The role sits between business value and technical execution, overseeing the analysis pipeline, allocating work and leading business analysis from discovery and requirements through to solution design and implementation. It works closely with the Head of Business Systems, Finance, and the Digital Support, Data and Development managers.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, coach and support a team of functional Business Analysts, allocating work and reviewing deliverables
• Run requirements workshops and produce clear, complete, testable business and functional requirements
• Evaluate solution design options to reduce complexity and ensure solutions fit the need
• Work with developers on design and delivery, and support the test team with test data and defect analysis
• Turn the work pipeline into coordinated analysis and development plans, balancing capacity and sequencing
• Coordinate run sheets and lead the team through deployment of changes
• Improve and automate how the team works, focusing on agility, consistency and clarity
• Embed responsible use of AI tools across the team and coach analysts to use them well
• Keep the Head of Business Systems informed through regular status meetings and ad hoc updates

Required profile

• 7+ years' experience in complex corporate or professional services environments, with a grasp of commercial drivers
• Proven experience as a Business Analyst Lead on large, complex projects, including planning, estimating and scheduling
• Significant experience analysing requirements and user stories and writing specifications for robust, scalable solutions
• Experience working closely with business and development teams to assess feasibility and translate knowledge between them
• Sound understanding of project delivery, the software development life cycle and product management principles, with exposure to waterfall, agile and hybrid approaches
• Data-driven mindset, including the ability to use SQL to answer basic questions
• Practical experience using AI assistants to support Business Analysis work

Required skills

• Strong expertise in complex Finance/ERP systems, including processes, integrations and dependencies; experience with Elite 3E or Aderant Expert is highly regarded
• Excellent written and verbal communication, stakeholder relationship building and influence
• Analytical and problem-solving skills, initiative and self-management
