Bookkeeper - Outsourced Finance Support

About the role

A top 10 professional services firm, represented by Method Recruitment, is looking for an experienced Bookkeeper to provide outsourced bookkeeping and finance support to a wide range of businesses across many industries. The role suits someone from a public practice who likes variety, building client relationships and working autonomously within a supportive team. It is a permanent, full-time position based in Melbourne.

Key responsibilities

• Provide an end-to-end bookkeeping service for a portfolio of clients
• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable
• Carry out bank and balance sheet reconciliations
• Review and maintain the general ledger
• Prepare and lodge BAS and IAS
• Handle client invoicing and payment runs
• Support payroll activities where required
• Liaise directly with clients and respond to queries
• Identify process improvements and meet reporting deadlines

Required profile

• At least 2 years of bookkeeping experience
• Experience managing multiple clients or entities at once
• Strong knowledge of bookkeeping principles and Australian compliance requirements
• Experience preparing and lodging BAS and IAS
• Full working rights in Australia (citizenship or permanent residency)

Required skills

• Strong working knowledge of Xero (highly desirable)
• Attention to detail and organisational skills
• Ability to work independently and manage competing deadlines

The role is hybrid: 3 days in the office in the Melbourne CBD and 2 days from home, with typical office hours of 8:45am to 5:15pm.
