Azure Cloud Security Support Engineer

About the role

Avanade, part of Accenture, is looking for a cloud security support engineer with a background in Azure platform support to join its Managed Services team. The role suits someone with professional experience in security engineering and a strong background in certification, accreditation and the support of robust security frameworks in complex ICT environments. Knowledge of Australian Government information assurance requirements, including the Information Security Manual (ISM), NIST CSF 2.0 and Essential 8 ML2, is core to the position.

Required profile

• Proven expertise with Microsoft Azure and Microsoft Sentinel.
• Experience with the Microsoft Defender suite, Azure Security Center, and SIEM and log management.
• Hands-on experience with incident response, threat hunting and log analysis, and managing security infrastructure such as firewalls, IPS, WAF, endpoint protection, Zscaler and Proofpoint.
• Experience reviewing security vulnerabilities and using vulnerability management tools.
• Understanding of ITIL disciplines (change, configuration, asset, incident and problem management).
• Experience deploying applications, services and infrastructure into public cloud (Microsoft Azure).
• Strong communication skills to explain security issues to technical and non-technical stakeholders, and familiarity with Zero Trust, XDR or AI-driven security analytics.
• Experience coordinating, investigating and remediating incidents, and keeping up with threat intelligence.
• Australian citizenship; existing security clearance is highly regarded.
