Audit Financial Services Associate / Senior Associate

About the role

EY is seeking motivated Audit Professionals to join its Financial Services Audit team as Associates or Senior Associates. Based in Sydney (Warrang) and Melbourne (Naarm), you will help clients meet reporting requirements while gaining exposure to complex financial services audits.

Key responsibilities

• Lead fieldwork, manage performance, coach junior team members and keep engagement leaders updated.
• Manage audit processes, assess audit risk, and address technical matters such as revenue, financial instruments and income taxes.
• Engage with clients, provide advice, and identify opportunities to improve business processes.
• Stay current on market trends and share knowledge to develop junior colleagues.

Required profile

• Proven experience delivering external audit and assurance engagements for financial services clients.
• Experience leading planning, execution and reporting of audits.
• Strong academic record with a degree and progress toward or completion of CA ANZ qualification.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and collaborative skills.

Required skills

• External audit methodology and risk assessment.
• Knowledge of IFRS and related financial reporting matters.
• Understanding of financial instruments, revenue recognition and income tax accounting.
