About the role
Aurukun State School is seeking passionate educators for several permanent and temporary positions across primary and secondary levels. Working in a remote Aboriginal community, you will teach on Country, collaborate with Elders, and contribute to the cultural and academic growth of approximately 230 students.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and deliver curriculum-aligned lessons for designated year levels.
- Build strong relationships with students, families, and local Elders.
- Incorporate Indigenous cultural knowledge and community stories into learning experiences.
- Participate in professional learning communities and mentoring programmes.
- Support extracurricular activities and school events as needed.
Required profile
- Relevant teaching qualification (Bachelor of Education or equivalent).
- Full or provisional Queensland College of Teachers (QCT) registration.
- Australian working rights or a valid visa.
- Willingness to live and work in a remote Aboriginal community.
- Pre‑service and graduate teachers are encouraged to apply, with practicum reports and mentor statements.
