Tax Fund Accountant

About the role

This position sits within the Australian tax team of a leading global hedge fund and private equity administrator. Reporting to a Senior Tax Accountant, you will support client deliverables, transitions and projects while developing expertise in fund tax compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver tax reporting deliverables accurately and on time.
• Prepare tax compliance calculations such as distribution calculations, AIIR, income tax returns, investor statements and BAS returns.
• Participate in internal and external tax training as required.
• Assist in drafting tax policies and procedures to control tax risk.
• Liaise with internal teams (Fund Accounting, Investment Relationship, FATAC) to complete tax tasks.
• Ensure adherence to operational compliance and risk policies.
• Support project work, including testing of tax templates and updating standard operating procedures.

Required profile

• Degree in Business, Accounting or a related discipline.
• 1‑3 years of experience in a tax or audit role within corporate tax or fund administration.
• Intention to complete CA/CPA qualification.
• Proactive, “can‑do” attitude with a willingness to ask for help.
• Results‑focused with strong attention to detail and teamwork.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, changing environment.
