Specialist Technician – Systems Engineer for School IT Support

About the role

Bytewize is looking for experienced Systems Engineers / Specialist Technicians to provide technical support to Victorian schools through the Technical Support to Schools Program (TSSP). The role involves managing and maintaining ICT infrastructure, supporting staff and students, and delivering professional development where required.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and maintain ICT infrastructure across Department of Education schools.
• Administer and support school networks, server environments and cloud services.
• Provide ICT support in large, technology‑driven learning environments.
• Collaborate with school leadership teams and deliver ICT professional development sessions.
• Plan, deploy and manage 1:1 and BYOD device programmes.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of senior‑level IT support experience.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong problem‑solving, escalation and communication skills.
• Punctual, reliable, well‑organised with a systematic troubleshooting approach.
• Eligibility to work in Australia, a current driver’s licence and willingness to undergo police/background checks.

What we offer

• Salary $90,000 – $110,000 (pro‑rated) AUD, top rates based on skills and experience
