Software Engineer – National Intelligence Projects

About the role

Boeing is looking for software engineers to develop capabilities for the Australian Signals Directorate, supporting national intelligence and security. You will join a high‑performing team that explores cutting‑edge technologies in a niche intelligence environment.

Key responsibilities

• Write well‑tested, simple code to solve complex problems.
• Design and build high‑quality systems using the latest technologies.
• Participate in agile ceremonies, daily stand‑ups, retrospectives and other team meetings.
• Pair program, review pull requests and provide constructive feedback.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure; own production systems.
• Communicate technical ideas clearly through written, verbal and visual means.
• Contribute to an inclusive, collaborative team culture.

Required profile

• 2–4 years of software engineering experience.
• Motivation to work on new projects that protect Australia’s national interests.
• Ability to collaborate with internal stakeholders and external industry partners.

Required skills

• Java, C#, AngularJS, React, JavaScript.
• Understanding of microservice architectures and RESTful APIs.
• Hands‑on experience with containerised platforms (OpenShift, AWS, Azure, Docker, Kubernetes).
• Competence with relational databases (graph databases a plus).
• Familiarity with continuous integration and deployment pipelines.
