Software Engineer (Adelaide)

About the role

QinetiQ is seeking a Software Engineer to join its Adelaide team. You will work on a variety of defence‑related projects, collaborating with a tight‑knit group of engineers and stakeholders to deliver high‑quality software solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain software that meets coding standards and technical design specifications.
• Engage regularly with clients and external stakeholders to clarify requirements and define system functionality.
• Document software solutions and take ownership throughout the full software development lifecycle.
• Identify, troubleshoot and resolve software defects and performance issues.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, IT or a related field (preferred).
• Experience with one or more of the following languages: Java, Python, C/C++, JavaScript.
• Familiarity with modern JavaScript frameworks such as Angular, Vue or React.
• Understanding of the complete software development lifecycle, from analysis to testing and deployment.
• Strong problem‑solving ability, attention to detail and the capacity to work independently.
• Australian Defence security clearance (NV1) or ability to obtain one.
