Senior Strategy Associate

About the role

As a Senior Strategy Associate you will lead the design and execution of high‑impact strategic projects for the Qantas Group. Working from the head office in Mascot, you will partner with senior leaders to shape the future direction of Qantas Airways, Jetstar and Qantas Loyalty.

Key responsibilities

• Own end‑to‑end delivery of strategic initiatives, from problem definition through to recommendations.
• Create high‑quality content and analyses that inform Board, Exco, CEO and CFO decisions.
• Navigate complex and sensitive business topics, presenting findings to senior stakeholders.
• Coach and develop junior team members in traditional strategy tools and innovative methodologies.
• Collaborate closely with the Group Strategy team and other functional partners.

Required profile

• 5+ years of professional experience, including at least 3 years in a top‑tier consulting firm (Bain, BCG, McKinsey, Kearney) or a comparable corporate strategy/investment banking role.
• Relevant tertiary qualifications; MBA preferred.
• Strong analytical, financial and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with a collaborative mindset.
• Lateral thinker capable of quickly grasping new concepts.
