Senior Procurement Officer – Renewable Energy Projects

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Procurement Officer to lead procurement activities for the Central‑West Orana Renewable Energy Zone transmission line project. The role will drive cost‑effective sourcing of materials, equipment, civil works and subcontractors, supporting the joint venture’s delivery of a sustainable infrastructure solution.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement the project’s Procurement Plan and execution strategy for critical, long‑lead and civil‑works packages.
• Build and maintain strong supplier and subcontractor relationships to ensure value for money and meet sustainability targets.
• Manage the full tender process, including documentation, evaluation, pricing analysis and award recommendations.
• Conduct buy/lease/purchase evaluations, self‑perform versus subcontract comparisons and normalisation analysis to support decision‑making.
• Apply structured negotiation tactics to secure favourable commercial outcomes and measurable cost savings.
• Maintain transparent, compliant tender governance across all stages.
• Forecast procurement needs in collaboration with the delivery team and support cost, schedule, quality and safety objectives.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a senior procurement professional in large‑scale infrastructure or renewable energy projects.
• Strong capability across materials, equipment, goods, services, civil works and subcontract procurement.
• Ability to challenge the status quo and influence stakeholders through fact‑based analysis.
• Demonstrated track record of delivering cost savings and value‑driven solutions.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills to provide senior procurement guidance.
