Senior Engineer – Engineering Tooling & Observability

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer, Engineering Tooling & Observability to build the tools that help engineers develop, understand, and diagnose complex software systems. The role focuses on developer‑facing observability, combining logs, telemetry, events, and system state to enable rapid fault investigation.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain engineering tools that help developers understand and diagnose complex software systems.
• Create tooling that aggregates logs, telemetry, events, faults, and system state for easier investigation.
• Develop C++ and Python applications, libraries, services, and integrations interacting with onboard and distributed software.
• Build user interfaces and interactive visualisations using React and modern web technologies.
• Design effective debugging, fault‑investigation, and system‑introspection workflows.
• Develop APIs and web services that expose system data for engineering tooling.

Required profile

• Strong software engineering experience with modern C++ (C++17/20 or later).
• Extensive Python development experience.
• Proven ability to debug and reason about complex, concurrent, distributed software systems.
• Experience designing and maintaining production‑quality libraries, services, or applications.
• Solid understanding of software architecture and large codebases.
• Product mindset toward internal engineering tools with focus on usability and developer experience.
