Senior Emergency Department Registrar – Regional Victoria

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Emergency Department Senior Registrar, Advanced Trainee or SMO to join a busy ACEM‑accredited regional referral hospital in Victoria. This senior leadership position offers autonomy, periods as doctor in charge, and exposure to a high‑acuity, diverse case mix.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the Emergency Department during assigned shifts, acting as doctor in charge.
• Provide acute clinical care to a wide variety of emergency presentations.
• Supervise and mentor junior medical staff, ensuring safe and effective patient management.
• Collaborate with a strong consultant group and multidisciplinary teams.
• Participate in departmental quality improvement and training initiatives.

Required profile

• Current Senior ED Registrar, Advanced Trainee, or experienced SMO.
• AHPRA registration (or eligibility) required.
• Eligibility to work in Australia; UK and international doctors are encouraged.
• Willingness to relocate to regional Victoria.

Required skills

• Emergency Medicine clinical expertise.
• AHPRA registration compliance.
• Knowledge of ACEM accreditation standards.
