Senior Clinical Pharmacist & Educator

About the role

The Senior Clinical Pharmacist & Educator will provide high‑level clinical pharmacy services on complex paediatric inpatient units and will mentor less‑experienced pharmacy staff. The role also leads education and training programmes for undergraduate, intern, resident and general‑level pharmacists across the CHQ network.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver advanced clinical pharmacy care to paediatric patients in acute hospital settings with minimal supervision.
• Provide pharmacy services to both inpatient wards and outpatient clinics as required.
• Coach, supervise and support junior pharmacy practitioners, fostering a culture of continuous learning.
• Design, implement and evaluate pharmacy practitioner development programmes, especially those focused on paediatric practice.
• Collaborate with site‑based intern preceptors, clinical educators and Directors of Pharmacy Services to enhance state‑wide pharmacist training.
• Promote education and skill development for pharmacy support staff and new‑to‑hospital pharmacists.

Required profile

• Extensive clinical experience in paediatric pharmacy within an acute hospital environment.
• Proven ability to mentor and supervise pharmacy staff.
• Strong communication and teaching capabilities.
• Commitment to the CHQ Leadership Excellence Framework and organisational values.
• Ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams.
