Senior Accountant

About the role

Our client, an internationally operating renewable energy company expanding rapidly in Australia, is seeking a hands‑on Senior Accountant to join its finance team. The role will manage day‑to‑day financial operations and support both corporate and project‑level finance activities across a fast‑growing solar and battery storage portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end‑to‑end Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, including invoice processing, payments, bank reconciliations and vendor/customer queries.
• Maintain accurate general ledger records, covering pre‑payments, accruals, inter‑company transactions, fixed assets and employee expense claims.
• Support month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end close processes by preparing journals, reconciliations and working papers.
• Assist in preparing financial statements and management reports, including balance‑sheet and profit‑and‑loss reporting.
• Ensure robust financial documentation and filing for audit traceability.
• Support tax compliance activities such as BAS lodgements, land tax filings and income‑tax documentation.
• Assist external auditors and quarterly reviewers by preparing schedules and responding to queries.
• Provide general accounting and administrative support to the finance team as required.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of end‑to‑end accounting experience, preferably in renewable energy, infrastructure, construction or engineering.
• CA or CPA qualification.
• Strong working knowledge of AASB and IFRS accounting standards.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Xero accounting software.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Knowledge of AASB accounting standards.
